About the Minnesota Wild
The Minnesota Wild are a professional hockey team based out of St. Paul Minnesota, United States. They are members of the central division of the western conference in the NHL (national hockey league). The team was founded on June 25th of 1997, but did not make their NHL debut until the 2000-01 season. The team is the second professional hockey team to have played in the state, before the Wild were the Minnesota North Stars, who moved to Dallas in 1993 and became the Dallas Stars and still remain an NHL team. The Wild organization is proudly owned by owner Craig Leipold, ran by General Manager Chuck Fletcher, coached by Mike Yeo, and Head Captain of the team Mikko Koivu who has remained captain since the 2008-09 season.
